Characteristics

For centuries, maca (Lepidium meyenii) has been highly valued by the indigenous people of the Andes as a source of energy and strength regeneration. It is grown in high altitudes in the Peruvian and Bolivian mountains, where very few plants are able to survive. For consumption the root of the plant is used, which contains a number of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and essential amino acids.
